The snow is still falling... Yup we had over 12 inches on our back deck at 11 AM. Mother Nature is not loving on Louisville or Kentucky, or southern Indiana.

Wanna see what I see? )
Rather large images, probably not dial up friendly.

It is supposed to continue to snow until 4 pm... sigh

Also shown is our new jousting troupe, the video is very good, though the quality is shaky. but if you want more info their website is: http://www.cavalloeqarts.com and they look AMAZING!

Really looking forward to this year at faire!

[info]goldenwolfen is an amazing artist I have followed for a long time, her work is animal/hybrid based (or that is what I call it, I"m sure it has a real name, but I don't know what it is) And she sometimes posts images form her work on her LJ. Today's piece just blew me away. I wish there was some way I could afford her work. Someday I will have one of her originals, I'm determined!

Go check out her LJ! Arctic Treasures is SO gorgeous!

INVESTIGATORS CALL FOR 4,000 WITCHES TO BE PARDONED

08:50 - 07 January 2008

A team of paranormal investigators are calling on the Scottish Government to pardon the last person prosecuted under the Witchcraft Act.

Full Moon Investigations are also asking for a posthumous pardon for 4,000 people - men, women and children - who were found guilty and often tortured before being executed throughout history.

Last year, relatives of medium Helen Duncan, who was born at Callander, Perthshire, had their bid for her name to be cleared turned down by Westminster.

Mrs Duncan was imprisoned using the Witchcraft Act during World War II.

She was targeted by the government after revealing to a seance audience that a warship had sunk before the news had been released to the public.

Mrs Duncan became one of the most famous mediums of her time, heading a network of spiritualist churches. During the war she lived in Portsmouth, the home of the Royal Navy.

At a seance in 1943, it was claimed that the spirit of a sailor from the warship HMS Barham appeared.

The vessel was only officially declared lost several months later.

She was arrested in 1944 and sentenced to nine months in prison at the Old Bailey for crimes under the Witchcraft Act of 1735.

The act was repealed in 1951, and three years later spiritualism was officially recognised as a religion.

Campaigners to pardon Mrs Duncan have set up an online petition.

The campaign has been backed by the British Society of Paranormal Studies.

Andrew Byrne, Roberta Gordon and Ewan Irvine of Full Moon Investigations are submitting a petition to the Scottish Government asking for pressure to be placed on the Home Office to pardon Mrs Duncan.

Ms Byrne said: "The pardon of the 4,000 people prosecuted as witches is very relevant in today's society.

"Occupations such as herbalists, acupuncture, midwifery, reiki, and health foods can all be seen as having many of their roots in the wise traditions and words of people who would have been classed as witches in their day.

"We owe so much to these people and also to the case of Helen Duncan who, although she was not pardoned, it led to the Witchcraft Act being repealed, and this allows mediums and these other occupations to practice freely today."

They should pardon her, it isn't a crime to have a gift.
